I wasn’t sure how to convey “random gaming stuff” with a picture, so you get this picture instead. Consider it my positive message for the day. We want to be a “feel good” site.
Last weekend I left the apartment and went out in search of Items of Great Importance: a wireless router and games.
In my travels, I discovered that one of the stores had the Xbox 360 kiosk set up, and I finally got my first glance of the Xbox 360 in action. Perhaps it was the nifty monitor they’d opted to use, but I admit to being impressed. I didn’t see all of the games, only Call of Duty 2, Kameo: Elements of Power, and Need for Speed. Though I wasn’t entirely impressed with Need for Speed (it looked like all of the racing games I have for the regular Xbox), the other two games (CoD2 and Kameo) looked crisp and shiny. I stood there, drooling for a while, and then eventually pulled myself away. I left there thinking, “Me wants.”
I’ve always been a fan of Singstar, having played it before. Until now, however, I didn’t have one of my very own. Oh, how I love it. I spent most of the weekend attempting to sound like Pink and trying my hand (vocal cords?) at some of the French songs included in the game. It seems I sing equally bad in all languages, though at one point I actually got a higher score in a French song than I did trying to sing “I Got You Babe.” Trying to hit the right notes in the chorus was a challenge I was not expecting. Stupid Sonny.
Sadly, the game store guy – distracted, I’m sure, by my ravaging good looks (or maybe just a piece of broccoli in my teeth) – ended up giving me the wrong BtVS game. I got far enough into it to decide I kind of liked it, and so now I have two BtVS games (they were only 9€!).
I’m sure I’ve now lost the one or two readers that once respected me. I’m sorry. I’m only human. Worry not, F.E.A.R. is next.
That said, I’d be curious to know if any of you have purchased games you’re embarrassed to admit to.
For example, I know Erin is a big fan of Play With the Teletubbies, but she’d never tell that to anyone. I only know because when she visited me last Christmas, it accidentally fell out of her suitcase.
Btw, none of those amazon links are affiliates, so you can click and purchase the Teletubbies game without us making a dime from it – or even knowing about it.
