Well, here I am in rainy Illinois (no, that’s not me in the picture at left) and if the forecast for this area holds, I’m going to be sitting underneath lots of clouds while the Geminds fly overhead.
Just a reminder, they will peak tomorrow night starting around 10:30pm or so Eastern time and it will last for several hours afterward. Astronomy Buff commenter Tom had the best idea I’ve heard in a long time: plan on taking out a sleeping bag, wine and your significant other and enjoy the show.
Spending several hours under the stars like that can only be a good thing and it’ll do wonders for your social life.
I hope you guys will comment on how good the event was where you were, you can leave out the sleeping bag details if you like.

Ok, so it won’t be this good.
