Could MacGyver be headed to the big screen? It’s a resounding yes, according to a Hollywood Reporter story that says the classic 80s TV show is making a feature film comeback. I’m guessing Will Forte’s “MacGruber” skits on “Saturday Night Live” haven’t hurt the cause.
It’s hard to imagine anyone but Richard Dean Anderson playing the resourceful character who managed to make bombs and artillery out of duct tape and gym socks.
And they HAVE to put Richard Dean Anderson in the movie. Maybe he could be the head of the Phoenix Foundation now.
Raffaella De Laurentiis, daughter of Dino De Laurentiis, is producing the show with Martha De Laurentiis and series creator Lee Zlotoff. No writer is attached yet.
