Business identity is very important and being able to brand your business with an easily identifiable brand is just as important too. One of the best things that you could do is invest time into your business through research and developing your brand.

person-computer-small-business2As you develop your business brand, there are some innovative ways that you can implement to make your brand memorable. Below is a starter list to help you think of ways to create your innovative business brand:

  • Develop a motto or “catch phrase” that can be easily identified with your business. Such as “Just Do It” that is easily identified with Nike.
  • Use a color scheme that doesn’t clash but draws the attention of your ideal clients. When you see a red bulls-eye with a white background, then this represents the department store called Target.
  • Participate in local events and then share your business promotional items that include your branding message. Attending local chambers of commerce can help you building your brand locally while at the same time connect you with your local clients.
  • Develop a blog that communicates your branding message along with sharing your knowledge with your web visitors. Blogs are an effect way to quickly get your brand message out to search engines and to those who follow your blog’s RSS feed. Using WordPress for your blogging software is a good tool to use.

As I mentioned before, this is just a starter list. I want to know what you would add to this list to help others be innovative when developing a small business branding plan. So please feel free to share your ideas. To get addition ideas, watch the video below.

    Good starter list.

I would add that anything you do must be done with your brand foremost in mind. That catchphrase or motto, that logo, those events in which you participate…they should all be tied to and reinforce core values that your brand stands for. That color scheme? It must be well thought out and tie into the emotions and feelings you are trying to evoke.

Your brand is an identifiable entity that makes a specific promise of value to the market and everything you do must help deliver on that promise or strengthen its value in the minds of your prospects and customers.
