As times change and the economy affects businesses, many have began wondering if tranditional marketing is still necessary. Consumers are demanding more from businesses and their brands that includes an online presence or at least builds in interactivity.
Yet, this is still a time for business brands to survive and grow. Businesses can do this by being open with their consumers and partnering with their vendors. As traditional marketing evolved into online marketing, we can see that the industry trends are being affected. Traditional marketing such as placing a business ad in a newspaper has been superceded by placing ads on Facebook or other social media websites.
For instance, 10 years ago, who would have thought that being on social networks such as Twitter or Facebook would almost become a requirement for business owners in order to manage their brands. Several large and small business have found out that if they didn’t have a social media presence then their brand could get hi-jacked and worse destroyed.
