I’m getting a bit tired of the super sweet cocktails that are popular right now.
The savory cocktails have come into [and out of] favor in the past and I miss them.
Heck, one of my favorite cocktails is a Bloody Mary and if that drink is sweet then you’re doing something wrong.
This recipe is for a cucumber and thyme martini [two flavors I LOVE] and it includes and interesting ingredient [gomme] that you might have a hard time finding so you might as well make it yourself.
The Cocktail Chronicles has a play-by-play recipe for gomme and you should check it out if you want to make this cocktail RIGHT.
Cucumber and Thyme Martini
Ingredients:
- Zubrowka bison grass vodka
- citrus vodka
- 2 inch piece of cucumber
- a sprig of thyme
- lemon juice
- gomme
- ice
Directions:
Muddle the thyme and cucumber along with the gomme in the bottom of a glass.
Add everything else and the top of your cocktail shaker and shake until the mixture is good and cold.
Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a bit of thyme.
