I’d be surprised if she wasn’t. In my humble opinion, Diana Taurasi is the most complete basketball player in the entire WNBA. She is a scorer and a true leader who can control the pace of the game, get her teammates involved and take control when she needs to.
Taurasi and Mercury teammate Cappie Pondexter were both selected to the All-WNBA first team on Wednesday. They are the most dangerous guard tandem in the league. Taurasi leads the WNBA in scoring with 20.4 points per game. This will be the third time in her professional basketball career in which she has averaged over 20 points per game.
The Phoenix Mercury and the Los Angeles Sparks are currently battling in the West Conference finals. The Mercury took game one with the help of Taurasi’s 28 points and six assists.
You don’t get much more MVP than that.
