Thanks to my interest in subscribing to the newsletter of online games published by reputable massively multiplayer online game publishers, I get quite a number of free items, the latest among which is a mount in the hit free-to-play MMORPG Runes of Magic.

Just in time for Christmas, Frogster Interactive Pictures AG, publisher of Runes of Magic in North America, is giving away a free reindeer mount to Runes of Magic newsletter subscribers.

Obviously, that's not a reindeer, but it is a mount in the online game Runes of Magic.

Obviously, that's not a reindeer, but it is a mount in the online game Runes of Magic.

But that’s not all. Frogster is also offering players a chance to view the virtual world of Taborea from a different perspective — from the eyes of a reindeer! With the help of the two Donichuka Transformation Potions that Runes of Magic players will receive, they may transform into a Taborean reindeer and gain a 20-percent buff of Intelligence and Wisdom for a full 30 minutes.

The promotional offer, however, is only available to all players of Runes of Magic who have registered a game account before December 21st, 2009. The voucher code that you receive in your email through the Runes of Magic newsletter is redeemable only once per account and is valid only until December 21st, 2009.

Runes of Magic players can also look forward to a special this Christmas. Dubbed Christmas Eve Diamond Horn of Plenty Event, players will get a bonus on top of the normal package amount for diamonds, the Runes of Magic item mall currency.

“What this means is that you will be able to get more diamonds, but the amount depends on you. The current offer will be announced on the servers via an in-game broadcast. You’re going to have to show some nerve and decide when to go for it,” the newsletter said.

For more information about the game, head on over to the official Runes of Magic website in North America.
