Fair Grounds Recap – Dec 27th

Fast main track and firm turf course. Three more wire jobs on the main, and turf course favored stalkers and closers.

Curt Bourque booted home a pair. ‘Cisco Torres, my rider to watch on Sunday, captured one race, and my trainer to watch (Tom Amoss) had two show finishers from as many starters.

Cash Refund (8th race) was the marquee performer on the card, and he did not disappoint as the heavy fav in his winning return. The Steve Margolis trainee sped six furlongs in 1:09.92 and will probably try stakes foes next time.

On the analysis front, I got home tops Superior Attitude ($6.80), Candy Run ($3.80), and Scar Baby ($11.80). I also tabbed the 1st race exacta ($18.40), the early double ($14.40), the 3rd race exacta ($40), and a pair of pick 3’s.

Fair Grounds Preview – Dec 28th

A 9-race program will be run on Monday at the Fair Grounds. Sunny skies are expected with a high temperature of 51. Pick 6 carryover of $5,935.

I’ll stick with Tom Amoss as my trainer to watch. He has a good shot to find the winners’ circle on Monday with Stratos (3rd race).

My jockey to watch is Patrick Valenzuela. He is clicking at a 23% rate at the current stand, and he has a pair of price players with Why Not Be Perfect (4th race) and Prado’s Treasure (7th race).
