Fair Grounds Recap – Dec 28th
Fast main track and firm turf course. Main track played fair. Turf played fair with a pair of wire jobs, a stalker, and a late runner making up the four winners on that surface.
No riding or training doubles on the day. PVal, my rider to watch on Monday, captured one race, and my trainer to watch Tom Amoss saddled a winner as well.
On the analysis front, I got home tops Why Not Be Perfect ($29.20) and Castnet Kent ($11.20). I also tabbed the 5th race exacta ($31), a couple of pick 3’s, and the late double ($61.60).
Fair Grounds Preview – Dec 31st
A 9-race program will be run on Thursday at the Fair Grounds. Partly cloudy skies are expected with a high temperature of 62. Pick 6 carryover of $8,070.
My trainer to watch on Thursday is Sturges Ducoing. The veteran conditioner is clicking at a 20% rate at the current meet. He has a pair of contenders with Placid Stream (4-1) in the 3rd and Auto Be A Bear (3-1) in the finale.
Victor Lebron is my rider to watch. He is enjoying a rock solid meet, and Zosogood (2nd race) looks like his best shot from four mounts.
My daily full cards from Fair Grounds are available through Today’s Racing Digest (free sign up), and I will be posting a daily free pick on their site as well. Click here to view my Thursday free selection (9th race) from Fair Grounds.
