Although the 2010 baseball season is still a few months away, here’s an early look at the 2010 MLB power rankings. We’ve seen a lot of activity on the free agent market and that has resulted in movement in our baseball power rankings.
1. New York Yankees
The Yankees won the World Series and have celebrated by getting better.
2. Philadelphia Phillies
If they can get a couple more relievers, the Phillies will remain the NL favorites.
3. Boston Red Sox
Losing Jason Bay hurt but their pitching could very well be dominant.
4. St. Louis Cardinals
It looks more and more likely that they’ll re-sign Matt Holliday.
5. Seattle Mariners
The Mariners got Chone Figgins and Cliff Lee this winter. That’s very impressive.
6. Los Angeles Angels
The Angels have had a tough offseason. They need to do something — and quick.
7. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers fell off at the end of last season but don’t forget how well they played earlier.
8. San Francisco Giants
Their pitching makes them dangerous. Better bats will make them winners.
9. Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays should return to their 2008 levels — or close to it.
10. Colorado Rockies
The Rockies finished 2009 in great fashion. Perhaps a 2010 carryover?
