Monica Bellucci is an Italian actress and model. In the U.S., she is best known for her role as Persephone in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolution. She also played Mary Magdalene in The Passion of the Christ.
However, she made her mark on the film world internationally far before the Matrix films, beginning her movie career in the early 90s. In 2002, she was in the midst of controversy with her shocking graphic rape scene in the Italian film Irreversible – one of the most walked-out films in the history of the Cannes Film Festival. She also posed nude while pregnant for Italian Vanity Fair magazine in 2004 in protest of Italian laws against sperm donation.
Her modeling career began in 1988 and she has appeared on numerous magazine covers and advertising campaigns throughout the world. She is currently one of the faces of Dior Cosmetics.
She’s definitely a hottie and seems intelligent too (I’ll pretend we care about that). Let’s take a look at Monica Bellucci.
In the interview below, she talks about her thoughts on the controversial rape scene in Irreversible.
