ABC has hired three people to replace the departing showrunner on FlashForward. Jessika Borsiczky, Lisa Zwerling and Tim Lea will take over and they’ll be one episode shy of a full season. ABC cut the order from 23 to 22 because of a premiere date pushback designed to escape the monster feet of American Idol.

Borsiczky and Zwerling are already producers on the series and Zwerling wrote several episodes where as Lea comes in new from CSI:NY.

In other news, Frank Grillo of Prison Break got the lead role in the new ABC paranormal crime drama The Gates. The summer series is about a city cop who takes a job as the police chief in a small, happy community — which, of course, is full of dark secrets!

Finally, it’s a done deal. Moonlight’s Alex O’Loughlin has agreed to take on the lead role in the Hawaii Five-O remake. I’m very much looking forward to it.
