The great thing about walking is it’s easy enough to where almost everyone can do it while remaining very effective in toning up your body, building muscle and helping you lose weight. Besides keeping you in shape, walking is advantageous specifically to your health because it lowers cholesterol and the chance of developing diabetes.
In the next couple of days, try walking for recreation or as a function in your daily life (such as mailing a letter). The walk doesn’t have to be far. The idea is to make walking a bigger part of your life. Once it is, your health and fitness will improve dramatically over time.
As a personal example, I once lived in Virginia for a month and lost 20 lbs simply because I walked (or ran) everywhere I had to go. If I went to get something to eat, I walked. If I went to the grocery store, I walked. When I went to the gym, I ran. My lifestyle changed dramatically when I didn’t have a car and my body adapted in quick fashion.
