Don’t mess with Texas. Especially don’t mess with Texas around Vince Young. After a strip club manager flashed an insulting upside-down Longhorns sign, Vince Young went off and decked the man. The quarterback for the Tennessee Titans has was given a citation for misdemeanor assault.
While violence is rarely the answer, it’s somewhat understandable in this situation. Throwing an upside-down Longhorns sign to a fiercely proud former Texas Longhorn such as Vince Young is just asking for trouble. Creiton Kinchen, the strip club manager, got an up close and personal view of Young’s furry.
Now the Titans and their quarterback have to worry about whether NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will hand down a suspension. Typically, a suspension would be a no-brainer for Goodell … but he may give Young a break. He was clearly taunted and hasn’t been charged with a major crime. In fact, the citation he received has a maximum penalty of a $500 fine.
