Texas Rangers fans are excited that their team will at least have a cameo in the 2010 baseball playoffs. While the Rangers will be underdogs in the opening round of the postseason, they now have a chance because Josh Hamilton is back. Hamilton isn’t just the best hitter on the Rangers, he’s arguably the best hitter in the world.
The slugger had been sidelined with a pair of fractured ribs. Before he got injured, Hamilton was hitting .361 with 31 homers and 97 RBIs. His .361 batting average is the best in baseball.
The Rangers plan to ease Hamilton back into action. On Friday, he will only play six innings. By Sunday, the team could let him play the entire game in the outfield.
Said Hamilton: “Everything feels good.”
And now, the Rangers fanbase has to be feeling a lot better about their playoff chances. At 89-70, the Rangers are headed to the postseason for the first time since 1999.
