LeBron James had a victorious first game as a member of the Miami Heat. Playing in front of his new home fans, LeBron powered the Heat to a 105-89 win over the Detroit Pistons. LeBron had 18 points, four assists, three rebounds and two blocked shots in 27 minutes of action.
Unfortunately, the news wasn’t all good for the Heat. Dwyane Wade injured his hamstring three minutes into the game. While Wade’s injury isn’t considered serious, he’s likely to be sidelined a couple weeks.
The Heat were led in scoring by the other member of their Big 3, Chris Bosh. In 26 minutes, Bosh had 20 points, six rebounds and two steals. Off the bench, Udonis Haslem finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds in 25 minutes. The Pistons were led by Ben Gordon, who had 17 points off the bench.
Next, Miami will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday before traveling to San Antonio to play the Spurs on Saturday.
