While there are a number of great teams in the NBA this season, there isn’t a leading NBA MVP candidate. The usual suspects aren’t blowing people away so this year’s award is wide open at this point. While a leading candidate will likely emerge in the next few months, here are the top 2010 NBA MVP candidates as it stands.

    Manu Ginobili
The best player on the best team this year has been Manu Ginobili of the San Antonio Spurs. He’s scoring at a career-high rate and has been the master of clutch situations.

    Dirk Nowitzki
The owner of one MVP award, Dirk Nowitzki is playing like he wants a second. He has the Dallas Mavericks playing fantastic basketball — especially recently.

    Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant is quietly having a very good year. If the Los Angeles Lakers can get back to winning, Bryant can shoot up these rankings.

    Kevin Love
Although the Minnesota Timberwolves are horrible, Kevin Love is putting up amazing numbers. Keep an eye on him.

    LeBron James
If the Miami Heat finish with the best record in the NBA, LeBron James could very well end up with the 2010 NBA MVP Award.
