The last thing anyone wants in an All-Star game is an injury. Unfortunately for Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat, that’s exactly what happened in the 2011 NBA All-Star Game. With about five minutes remaining in the third quarter, Dwyane Wade sprained his ankle when he landed on the foot of Deron Williams. The superstar guard for the Heat left the game and didn’t return.
In 21 minutes of play prior to the injury, Dwyane Wade had 14 points and four boards as the East fell to the West by a final tally of 148-143. The good news for fans of the Miami Heat? Dwyane Wade says his ankle injury isn’t serious.
Said Dwyane Wade: “It was an All-Star Game. If it were a regular game, I would have tied my shoes up a little tighter and gone back out there.”
The Heat next play on Tuesday at home against the Sacramento Kings.
