Channing Frye caught the ball with time winding down in overtime. The Suns bigman raised up and buried a 22-footer at the buzzer to give the Phoenix Suns a 110-108 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Frye had 14 points and ten rebounds for the Suns in 43 minutes of play. His shot improved the Suns to 30-27 and dropped the Pacers to 26-32.
Frye’s heroics came a possession after he made a big mistake. With the Suns up by three points and less than 30 seconds remaining, Frye fouled Josh McRoberts on a layup. McRoberts converted the layup and the free throw to tie the game. But that play was forgotten after Frye’s big jumper.
The Suns were led by Grant Hill’s 34 points. Off the bench, Marcin Gortat had 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The Pacers, who were playing in front of their home fans, got 25 points from Danny Granger and 18 points from Tyler Hansbrough. Indiana has now lost two games in a row and four of their last six.
