The NFL combine is where NFL hopefuls gather to get tested every way imaginable. They run. They take written tests. They get interviewed. They do just about everything scouts can come up with. Stephen Paea, a defensive tackle out of Oregon State, is the man of the hour right now at the NFL combine after he set a new record in the bench press. Watch the Stephen Paea bench press video below.

The bench press test consists of seeing how many times each NFL prospect can bench 225 pounds. Stephen Paea bench pressed that weight an amazing 49 times. His 49 reps smashed the previous record of 45 reps and surely helped his stock going into the 2011 NFL Draft.

Paea was born in New Zealand but was raised in Tonga. He was invited to the 2011 Senior Bowl after a very good career at Oregon State, however a knee injury kept him from playing in it.
