For most of the season, the San Antonio Spurs had perfect health. Now it appears that all the injuries are striking at once for San Antonio. In their Monday night game against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Spurs were without four starters: Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Antonio McDyess. All four players missed the game due to injury.
The good news for the Spurs? All four players could be back for their next game Thursday night versus the Boston Celtics.
Tim Duncan has missed four straight games now after spraining his ankle against the Golden State Warriors earlier in the month. Head coach Gregg Popovich has stated that he expects Duncan back by the beginning of April.
Manu Ginobili sat out most of the second half on Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies after suffering a thigh contusion. Tony Parker didn’t miss any action against the Grizzlies but suffered a bruised knee during the game. Antonio McDyess missed the game against the Blazers with a bruised back, which he too suffered against the Grizzlies.
