Playing with a 101-degree fever, Dirk Nowitzki scored 10 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a come-from-behind win over the Miami Heat in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night. The Mavericks’ 86-83 victory ties the series at 2-2.
Dirk was the man in the fourth period with decisive basket with 14.4 seconds left in the game. On the night, Jason Terry tallied 17 points for the Mavs (eight in the fourth), while Shawn Marion chipped in with 16 and Tyson Chandler logged 13 points and 16 boards.
For the Heat, Dwyane Wade had 32 points in the game but bumbled away Miami’s final possession. But it wasn’t Wade’s fault that Miami lost the game. LeBron James scored a playoff-low eight points on 3-for-11 shooting. Miami also turned the ball over six times and scored just 14 points on 33.3% shooting during the final period.
Game 5 takes place on Thursday night in Dallas.
