The headlines say it all. Jeremy Maclin, the up-and-coming wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, is healthy. That in itself is great news considering that there were rumors that Jeremy Maclin had a career-threatening illness. After a number of tests that spanned over multiple weeks, the Eagles wideout has been given a clean bill of health.
“I don’t have AIDS, leukemia — all the things people were guessing on,” said Jeremy Maclin to Fox Sports. “There was nothing. I was being tested for lymphoma and thank God everything has come back negative.”
The Eagles and Jeremy Maclin became worried when he lost a lot of weight during the offseason. Additionally, some of his bloodwork came back in the dangerous range. As it turns out, the cause appears to have been somewhat minor.
Jeremy Maclin added: “It was all caused by an inflammatory virus, something that just runs its course through your body or you can treat with medicine. I didn’t need medicine; it’s just something I had to deal with.”
