Production out of your fantasy football kickers can be pretty random. However, if you get quality kickers who play for a team with a quality offense, you can take some of that randomness out of the equation. Here are our kicker rankings for the 2011 fantasy football season.
1. Nate Kaeding, San Diego Chargers
The Chargers can move the ball on offense. Nate Kaeding is an elite kicker. That’s a good combination.
2. Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots
In his young career, Stephen Gostkowski has proven to be very reliable.
3. Garrett Heartley, New Orleans Saints
He’s erratic but Garrett Heartly has a good leg and his offense will put him in position to score.
4. Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers
Mason Crosby hasn’t ever lived up to the expectations but he has another chance to be a top three fantasy football kicker.
5. Josh Brown, St. Louis Rams
The Rams have a young offense that might stall a lot in the red zone. That’d be a good thing for Josh Brown’s value.
6. Neil Rackers, Houston Texans
Neil Rackers can boom it from deep. The Texans aren’t afraid to trot him out there, either.
7. Sebastian Janikowski, Oakland Raiders
Sebastian Janikowski was a stud who came out of nowhere last season. I don’t think it was 100% a fluke.
8. Adam Vinatieri, Indianapolis Colts
His leg isn’t what it used to be but the Colts will score and Vinatieri will take advantage of the easy kicks.
9. Nick Folk, New York Jets
The Jets will be inconsistent offensively … which is both good news and bad news for Nick Folk.
10. Matt Bryant, Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are a very solid football team. That should allow Matt Bryant to be relatively consistent during the 2011 fantasy football season.
