Since there hasn’t been much trash talking between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants leading up to the Super Bowl, the media has to stretch any controversial quote that arises. Here’s yet another example. Antrel Rolle, a safety for the Giants, expressed what he thought when he hopped on the jet to fly to Indianapolis for the Super Bowl.
Said Rolle: “We have come here for one thing and one thing only which is to win. We are expecting to win this game come Sunday.”
This week, that counts as trash talk. It’s not much of a proclamation, but it’s about as bold as any player has been thus far.
As a whole, reporters got the sense that the Giants are a very confident bunch. They’ve beaten the Patriots in the Super Bowl before and they think they can do it again. Just ask Antrel Rolle.
