Zack Greinke was the American League Cy Young winner back in 2009 with the Kansas City Royals. Since then, however, he hasn’t been nearly as dominant. Should you draft Zack Greinke in your 2012 fantasy baseball draft?
I say yes.
First of all, Zack Greinke was pretty good last year with the Milwaukee Brewers. He finished the year 16-6 with a 3.83 ERA to go along with 201 strikeouts in only 171.2 innings. While you’d wish his ERA was a bit lower, the rest of those numbers are elite.
If you look closer at his numbers from last year, you can see that Zack Greinke has a ton of upside. After the All-Star game last season, he was great: 9-3 with a 2.59 ERA.
Since he’s only 28 years old and has a limited injury history, go ahead and be bullish on Zack Greinke’s potential this year.
My Zack Greinke 2012 fantasy projections: 3.30 ERA, 17-6 record, 220 strikeouts, 201 innings.
