Josh Howard of the Utah Jazz had been playing better recently. But the former star might have been lost for the season. He has an injury to the cartilage in his left knee that will require surgery. The Jazz are saying that Howard is expected to be out up to six weeks.
On the timeline, Howard could return at some point in the playoffs. However, if the Jazz even make the playoffs, they likely won’t make it past the first round. That means that Howard’s season is very likely over.
On the season, Howard is averaging 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds on 39.7% shooting from the field, 22.2% shooting from three-point land and 77.9% at the line.
The 31-year-old could be looking at the end of his career. He’s not nearly as explosive as he was five years ago with the Dallas Mavericks. And since he’s already had knee surgery, this latest knee injury is a bad sign.
