With the series tied 3-3, the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers played a Game 7 on Saturday night. Boston was at home and was favored to win. And thanks to a late rally, the Celtics were able to take home the victory and advance to play the Miami Heat in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals.

Kevin Garnett powered Boston with 18 points and 13 rebounds, however it was Rajon Rondo who came up big at the end. After Paul Pierce fouled out, Rondo exploded to finish with 18 points, ten rebounds and ten assists.

After the game, Rondo said that the Celtics have bigger goals.

“We feel we can beat Miami,” said Rondo. “We got to this point; there’s no doubt in my mind we can. We’ve got to go down there and take care of business.”

In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Heat are going to be favored. Not only do they have homecourt advantage, they are facing a banged up Celtics squad that struggles to score the basketball.

But on this night, Boston did just enough to stay alive.
