For years, the American League dominated the MLB All-Star Game. Now it’s the National League’s turn to reign supreme. The NL jumped to an early lead and cruised to an 8-0 victory over the AL on Tuesday night. Melky Cabrera of the San Francisco Giants was named MVP.
“I didn’t come to win an MVP,” said Melky Cabrera. “That’s just a surprise.”
Melky Cabrera was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. His big hit was a two-run homer in the fourth inning.
Surprisingly, the player who lost the game for the AL was 2011 AL MVP Justin Verlander. In the first inning, he gave up five earned runs.
As for the NL, their pitchers also deserve a lot of credit. They gave up only six hits and three walks against an amazing lineup.
