When you’re in Vegas, it’s a bad idea to bounce a check. It’s an especially bad idea to bounce $70,000 worth of checks. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what Joey Porter allegedly did back in June.
The former star linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers was buying chips with checks. In a total of eight checks, he bought $70,000 worth of chips. After losing all his money, he put a stop payment on the checks.
Bad idea.
Joey Porter was arrested after a routine traffic stop. Hard Rock Casino went to the police and the former football player is being charged with theft and intent to defraud.
