Maurice Jones-Drew has been on the bench for a while. the Jacksonville Jaguars were hopeful that he’d be able to return to the field this season. However, that won’t be happening. Even worse, he is undergoing foot surgery that will have him sidelined until May at the earliest.
It turned out Jones-Drew was only able to play in six games this season. In those games, he ran for 414 yards on 86 carries. He also had 14 catches for 86 yards. In total, Jones-Drew had two touchdowns before he went down with the foot injury.
Jones-Drew is going to have a busy offseason. Not only will he have to rehab his foot, he’ll also be returning to UCLA to take classes.
Next season, the 27-year-old will return to Jacksonville for the final year of his contract.
