The Chicago Bears needed to beat the Detroit Lions to keep their hopes of making the 2012 NFL Playoffs. The Bears were able to do just that with a 26-24 victory. Chicago was actually up 20-3 before handing on at the end.
The Bears were led by Matt Forte, who finished with 103 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also had two catches for 21 yards. Jay Cutler was 18-for-31 passing for 257 yards and a TD.
Matthew Stafford had three touchdown passes but it wasn’t enough for the Lions, who lost their eighth straight game.
The Bears still need the Green Bay Packers to defeat the Minnesota Vikings to officially qualify for the 2012 NFL Playoffs.
