Chris Paul is back on the sidelines for the Los Angeles Clippers. The All-Star point guard — who is also an MVP candidate — three games earlier in the season with the ailment. Tonight, he’s missing the showdown between the Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“Chris is a tough guy,” said Vinny Del Negro, the head coach of the Clippers. “He’s a competitor. He wants to be out there, but we have to look at the big picture. We have to kind of protect Chris as well and just give him a little bit of rest.”
Paul is averaging 16.6 points, 9.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. He’s undoubtedly the best point guard in the NBA right now, so the Clippers are obviously hoping he will return soon.
With Paul out, super-sub Eric Bledsoe will start at point guard for the Clippers.
