The San Antonio Spurs were shorthanded on Wednesday night. However, in front of their home fans, the Spurs were able to gut out a victory over the New Orleans Hornets. Tony Parker led the way with 24 points and 13 assists.
The Spurs were playing with Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard. Duncan was out due to a sore knee, while Leonard was nursing a bruised knee. San Antonio was also without their head coach, Gregg Popovich, due to illness.
Trailing after the end of each of the first three quarters, the Spurs got it going in the fourth. Besides Parker, San Antonio also got a huge game from Tiago Splitter — who poured in a season-high 24 points on 10-for-11 shooting along with seven rebounds.
The Hornets were led by Eric Gordon’s 17 points.
