There are rumblings that Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees could be out for the season. This is surprising news because his hip surgery was supposedly going to allow him to come back at some point during the 2013 season.
However, listen to what Yankees GM Brian Cashman had to see on ESPN radio: “It is possible. It is a very complicated surgery. Any time someone has a surgery, there is always a chance there are complications. That didn’t take place in this case. But is it possible? Sure, it is possible.”
Knowing that Rodriguez’s season is in doubt, the Yankees signed Kevin Youkilis earlier in the offseason. Youkilis signed a $12 million contract.
If Cashman’s hints are to be believed, Youkilis may be more important than the Yankees and their fans originally thought.
