Ricky Rubio recently ripped acting head coach Terry Porter after a loss. The exciting guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves now says that he’s sorry. Rubio was initially mad because Porter changed his mind about putting him into the game in the fourth quarter.
Said Rubio: “I apologized to him because it came out like I was saying something against him, and I never went against him. It was something against me, by myself, because I was frustrated with me because I didn’t play.”
Porter, who is filling in for Rick Adelman as he tends for his ill wife, doesn’t think it was a big deal.
Said Porter: “I don’t think it ever was really an issue. He was frustrated like any player would be who wants to be playing the fourth quarter.”
Rubio doesn’t have much room to talk because he’s not having a good season. In 16 games, he has hit less than one-fourth of his field goal attempts.
