A lot of NBA pundits thought that Brook Lopez should have been an NBA All-Star this season. They said it was unfair that the Brooklyn Nets, who have the third best record in the Eastern Conference, didn’t have anyone make the All-Star Game. That talk is now moot because Brook Lopez has been named to the 2013 NBA All-Star Game.
In 29.3 minutes per game, Lopez is averaging 18.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. The Nets center is also shooting 52.3% from the floor and 73.6% at the free throw line.
“It is something I have been working towards,” said Brook Lopez, “and it’s been a goal of mine and it will definitely be an exciting weekend.”
This could be the first of many All-Star games for the 24-year-old seven-footer.
