When the Miami Heat have rested their main players, we’ve been called the resulting squad the Miami Lukewarm. Well, the Lukewarm were able to beat the Wizards in Washington on Wednesday night.
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were all held out as they rested minor aches and pains while gearing up for the 2013 NBA playoffs. But on this night, it didn’t matter. Ray Allen poured in 23 points off the bench in addition to six rebounds, four assists and three steals. The Lukewarm also got 17 points from Rashard Lewis.
The win improved Miami to 61-16 on the season. They have long clinched the best record in the Eastern Conference — now they are on the verge of clinching the best record in the entire NBA. Once that happens, don’t be surprised if we see a lot more of the Lukewarm in action until the postseason begins.
