With the Memphis Grizzlies down by three points with one second remaining, Quincy Pondexter went to the free throw line after getting fouled on a three-point attempt. If he hits all three free throws, the game is tied and overtime with the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 is likely. But on the first free throw, Quincy Pondexter choked and missed it.

Game over.

The Grizzlies did a fine job of choking as a team. Up by three points with 44 seconds remaining, Tayshaun Prince missed a short jumper. Kevin Durant responded with a jumper. Then, Derek Fisher stole the ball — which led to another Kevin “Kid Clutch” Durant jumper. Down by one with under ten seconds to go, Marc Gasol turned it over.

So, yeah, it wasn’t all Quincy Pondexter’s fault in Game 1.

But he definitely choked.
