If you are traveling to Florida’s Paradise Coast, bring along your pet. You can find so many pet-friendly places in Naples, Marco Island and other top spots – from restaurants to resorts… and even the farmer’s market.
Shopping for your pooch
If you are looking for some new clothes, toys and other products to treat your dog, head to Fergie’s Closet Doggie Boutique in Naples. You can find designer duds for your pooch, as well as accessories, bedding, chews/treats, toys, collars and just about everything else under the sun.
Having a bite to eat
Have a bite to eat at an open-air bistro or an upscale restaurant by the water. Paradise Coast offers every type of dining establishment you can imagine, and the food is top notch. Many of the restaurants are pet-friendly, including the Saturday afternoon “Yappy Hour” at M Waterfront Grille.
Relaxing at the beach
Take a boat tour to Keewaydin Island and bring along your dog. This 8-mile long barrier island was named one of the Top 10 Secret Beaches of the South in the April 2010 issue of Southern Living. Dogs are welcome on the beach, but remember that they must be leashed.
A park just for your dog
Head to the City of Naples Dog Park where there are two separate sections for large and small dogs. The beautiful park is also shaded and features benches, picnic areas and other amenities for you and your four legged friend.
Enjoy the farmer’s market
I absolutely love going to the farmer’s market, where you can find fresh produce, handmade jams, fragrant flowers, yummy baked goods and much more. The Third Street Farmer’s Market is the perfect place to spend your Saturday morning with your pup — they even sell dog treats!
