NBA experts were split regarding which team would advance to the NBA Finals from the Western Conference. However, if Game 1 is any indication, the San Antonio Spurs should be regarded as the heavy favorite. For the entire game, the Spurs dominated the Memphis Grizzlies before taking home a 105-83 victory.

The Spurs outscored the Grizzlies 31-14 in the first quarter to take command. And while the Grizzlies made a run in the second half, San Antonio quickly put out the fire and rebuilt their daunting advantage within minutes.

Tony Parker led the way for the Spurs with 20 points and nine assists. Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green combined for 34 points on 13-for-19 shooting from the floor.

Memphis was doomed by Zach Randolph’s poor play. The burly power forward had just two points on 1-for-8 shooting from the field. He entered the contest leading the Grizzlies in scoring in the playoffs with an average near 20 points per game.

Game 2 will be Tuesday night in San Antonio. The Grizzlies will look to bounce back while the Spurs will try to continue to do what they did in Game 1.
