Think you’re good at chess? You’re not even close to being on the level of Carissa Yip. This adorable 9-year-old is a child prodigy at the game of chess. She now holds the distinction of becoming the youngest American ever to reach the expert level of the U.S. Chess Federation.

The previous record holder was 12, so she beat the record by a healthy three years. She started learning how to play chess from her dad, but she quickly surpassed his skills. Her dad is confident that the phenom will rise to the rank of master within a year. We salute you, ma’am.
