A lot of people post videos to YouTube who hope to have a success story that mirrors that of Austin Mahone. While some go through much hardship to have their talents discovered by someone capable of introducing them to the world, this lil’ guy simply posted a video and became an instant star. In fact, even though he’s relatively new on the scene, he’s had the honor of being an opening act for Taylor Swift.

This brown haired, green eyed Aries was born on April 4, 1996 in San Antonio, Texas. That makes his nationality American. His parents are Charles Edgar Mahone and Michelle Lee Demyanovich. Mahone’s ethnicity is a mix of German, English, French, and Slovak. Most of his German and English ancestry is on his father’s side, although his maternal grandmother, Mary Loretta Voegler, is also of German decent. Some fans mistakenly believe he is Latino or Hispanic due to being born relatively close to the Mexican border.

Mahone’s father past away when the young star was only 16 months old, leaving him to be raised by his mother. On Twitter, he announced that his religion is indeed Catholic.

Oftentimes called the next Justin Bieber, he’s a quickly becoming a superstar that you need to keep an eye on. This year alone, Mahone won both a Young Hollywood Award and a Radio Disney Music Award.

Love him or hate him, be prepared.

I like Austin. I’m surprised to find out he has no Hispanic heritage. Something about his hair always makes me think he’s got a little dash of Latino (or even African American) blood mixed in somewhere. Thanks for the info. :)
