At first glance, you’ll think Warren Buffett is crazy. The insanely rich old man is putting one billion dollars on the line. You can win it simply by filling out a March Madness bracket. If you’re bracket ends up being perfect, you will be the world’s next billionaire.

Sounds possible, right? Yeah, no, it’s not going to happen. ESPN has been letting people fill out brackets for more than 15 years — and nobody has ever filled out a perfect bracket. And that was with limitless entries.

This Warren Buffett sponsored March Madness contest will have a cap on the number of entrants. Mathematically speaking, you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning three times today than winning the billion dollars.

That said, it’s free to enter — so why not? I know I’ll be entering.
