UPDATE on Erin Andrews’ stalker case (March 7, 2016): In October 2015, Erin Andrews filed a complaint against the Nashville Marriott as well as her stalker, Michael David Barrett for $75 million. On March 7, 2016, the jury awarded Andrews $55 million in the lawsuit.
UPDATE (July 3, 2012): Erin Andrews’ stalker – Michael David Barrett – was released from Seattle Community Corrections after serving his sentence. He will be on probation for three years.
UPDATE (March 15, 2010): Michael David Barrett, the Illinois insurance exec who secretly shot nude videos of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews was sentenced on Monday to 2 1/2 years in prison.
“You violated me and you violated all women,” Andrews told
Barrett in a hearing back in December. “You are a sexual predator, a sexual deviant and they should lock you up.”
After the sentencing, she said, “Thirty months isn’t enough.”
In a somewhat surprising move, Erin Andrews has been named the new “Dancing with the Stars” co-host. She replaces Brooke Burke Charvet and will be joined by Tom Bergeron. Though unforeseen, I love this move. Not only is she pleasing to look at, she’s calm under pressure and quick on her toes.
The 35-year-old is probably best known for her work as a sideline reporter for the NFL. This DWTS gig is definitely a promotion — and one she richly deserves. I think she’ll do great.
