The Slovenian Olympic team brought home eight total medals in Sochi — two gold, two silver and four bronze. Slovenia’s medals were split among five sports — alpine skiiing (two), ski jumping (two), snowboard (two), cross-country (one) and biathlon (one).
It was Tina Maze who stood on the podium and received a gold medal not once but twice in Sochi. The Slovenian pop star from a little mining town won the women’s giant slalom as well as the downhill, crowning her the best female alpine skier in the world.
