In shocking news in the world of wrestling, the Ultimate Warrior has died. The 54-year-old passes just days after being inducted into the Hall of Fame and hours after appearing on Monday Night Raw. James Hellwig is survived by his wife and two daughters.

His cause of death hasn’t been revealed, however there is already a lot of speculation regarding what killed the Ultimate Warrior. Wrestlers who have died early have sometimes been found to have been addicted to drugs (mostly cocaine) or alcohol. Steroid use is one reason why these sportsmen die young. Suicide is another.

Additionally, concussions and their long-term negative impact on health are just now being fully understood. Could that have played a role in the demise of James Hellwig? We’ll keep you updated on what the autopsy results indicate.

In the meantime, check out the Twitter reactions from his fellow WWE wrestlers. Click the right arrow to view the whole gallery:

So this is not a news site? Instead we conjecture about the fact that he died due to drugs vs natural causes?

It’s been going on all day. The speculation has run rampant. So many “experts” (and by experts, I really mean trolls) seem to think they can determine a persons cause of death just from hearing that they died.

This could have been any number of things. I say we wait until we hear an official cause of death. And if Warrior did die due to steroid abuse or what have you, then it was his choice, so who are we to criticize the guy?

None of us are above reproach in regards to making bad life decisions.

      None of us.

it’s not natural for a man to die in his 50′s. The average life expectancy of an adult male is in roughly the 80′s. While I don’t think conjecture is wise, it is definitely assured that he died of unnatural causes.

I always thought he was deaf by the way he sounded in the 80′s and 90′s RIP WARRIOR

Seriously? What kind of brain-dead idiot wrote that sentence? Oh. Noah Gulliver.

i dont care for WWF at all, but its still sad to see someone who was loved and admired by many die at a young age RIP

  • Looks like a “Dave”

It’s usually guys who don’t have the genetics to build muscles that resort to steroids. I would make a rough estimate that about one-third of guys that you would call a’ muscle-head’ are using. It seems like a lot of people just don’t want to believe someone can develop a muscular physique naturally. I know jealous guys are quick to make accusations. If there was an easy way, I would gladly be willing to prove to anyone who want to accuse me of using that I’m steroid and HGH free.

    R.I.P. James Hellwig
