Well the LeBron James decision has been made. In an article he penned for SI.com, LeBron announced Friday that he’s heading back to the Cleveland Cavaliers: “I’m ready to accept the challenge. I’m coming home.”

If you told me two weeks ago that LeBron would sign with the Cavs, I would have laughed in your face. The way LeBron left Ohio — with “The Decision” to head to South Beach, Gilbert’s comic sans letter and Cavs fans burning his jersey in the streets… I would have never believed he’d return.
But with Dwyane Wade deteriorating in Miami and Kyrie Irving on the rise in Cleveland, LeBron’s choice makes sense in a lot of ways.
In his piece for SI, Lebron writes: “My goal is still to win as many titles as possible, no question. But what’s most important for me is bringing one trophy back to Northeast Ohio.”
I’m not sure that will happen for LeBron. The championships he has now might be all that he ever wins. It’s not easy to win an NBA title. But I’m glad LeBron has made his decision — now the rest of the free agents can fall into place and we can all start getting hyped for next season.
Will LeBron’s Cavs be able to dethrone Duncan’s Spurs? I can’t wait to find out.
