Keanu Reeves‘ latest film, John Wick, hit theaters last Friday and, while it may have lost the box-office crown to Ouija, it’s a film that is worth seeing for a few simple reasons — it stars Keanu Reeves, it’s cheesy as hell and it’s not a holiday movie during the most festive part of year imaginable. What’s not to like?

If you have any sort of soul, you should consider checking it out and here’s why:

    1) Keanu Reeves Needs Us
We all know that his last movie, 47 Ronin, failed miserably in theaters which is a shame since, once upon a time, he was one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. In a recent interview, he lamented over the fact that he’s just not getting many offers from studios and that’s just a sad thing to hear. The film came in second at the box-office over the weekend, which is encouraging, so why not buy a ticket or two to bolster the sales and give Keanu a little boost?

    2) It’s a Great but Terrible Movie
Do you like movies like The Expendables or Big Trouble in Little China? If so, you’re in for such a treat. Imagine any recent Liam Neeson movie and double the cheese factor and you get the highly entertaining John Wick. The injuries sustained by Wick’s enemies will make you want to cringe and laugh at the same time. I went with my 17-year-old son and we both loved every single minute of it.

    3) It’s a Break From the Holiday Stuff
Whether it’s Halloween, Thanksgiving or even Christmas, this time of year is saturated with some sort of holiday-themed releases. This is a basic revenge-story with no agenda except making those a–holes pay for stealing his car and killing his puppy (a gift from his recently deceased wife). It doesn’t get much more heartwarming than that, right?

Oh… did I mention it also co-stars Willem Dafoe? Enough said.
